Nostalgic Bites: How To Make The Iconic Mr. Fabulous Burger At Home

We all hated to hear it as kids, but now that Mr. Fables is no longer and you can't just pop in to get their famous Mr. Fabulous burger, I'm happy to report that you can, in fact, make a Mr. Fabulous at home.

And, you can recreate those amazing onion rings at home, too.

Olive burgers are so immensely popular in Michigan (in part due to the Mr. Fabulous)   that there's an entire festival devoted to them every summer in Lansing. (And there's a Facebook page devoted to Mr. Fables aptly called, "I Miss Mr. Fables".)

Someone took to the TopSecretRecipes subreddit to share these recipes that frankly, most of us thought were lost forever. Many restaurants have done a pretty good job of recreating the salty, savory burger, but now you can do it yourself.

It seems pretty simple, but the specific ingredients are important. Of course, you'll need green olives - but they have to be the ones with pimentos. Then there's the mayo - you can't just grab any old jar of mayonnaise or use whatever random brand you have in your fridge. To make the perfect, authentic Mr. Fabulous, you have to use Hellmann's mayo. The cheese can't just be any old cheese, either - it's gotta be Kraft American cheese to be authentic.

It's also noted that in order to be authentic, the burger can't be charbroiled, it has to be fried, and you can't toast the buns, they should be microwaved for ten seconds. (I told you, if you want it to be authentic, you have to be very specific.)

How to Make Mr. Fables' Famous Onion Rings at Home

The onion rings are a little less specific, but - the secret to is that you have to use Drake's Crispy Frymix if you want to be authentic.
