Cleanliness is one of the most important traits you should develop by the time you're an adult. No one wants to smell, and especially after the pandemic you'd think more people would understand the importance of a good night time hygiene routine. But it turns out, the people of Michigan are a little gross...

A recent study by MattressNextDay delved into night time bathroom behaviors across the U.S., and Michigan didn't fare too well in the cleanliness department. The findings revealed some rather eyebrow-raising stats on tooth brushing, showering habits, and hand washing before bedtime.

So, where does Michigan stand? Well, we're not exactly a shining example of hygiene excellence. With a hygiene score of 26.52 out of 30, Michigan sits second to last on the cleanliness scale nationwide. That's not a spot anyone wants to claim.

Let's break it down: Nearly half of Michiganders (49%) don't bother brushing their teeth every night. And when it comes to hitting the shower, a whopping 61% of residents aren't doing it on a nightly basis. As for hand washing after using the toilet? Well, 37% of folks in Michigan aren't always keen on that either.

These stats may raise a few eyebrows, but they also highlight the importance of good hygiene practices. It's not just about smelling fresh; it's about keeping ourselves and others healthy.

As awareness around public health continues to grow, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of regular bathing, toothbrushing, and handwashing. By encouraging better habits, we can strive for cleaner communities and better overall health outcomes.

So, let's roll up our sleeves (literally) and prioritize hygiene education and awareness efforts. Together, we can work towards a cleaner, healthier Michigan as a whole.
