If You’re From Michigan, You Should Never Order Pizza From This Place
There are a lot of places in the US who claim to have the best pizza in the country, but we all know that's just not possible.
Here in Michigan, we're known for the "Detroit Style" deep dish pan pizza that has been gaining more and more popularity in the past few years thanks to companies like Motor City Pizza Co. who have been bringing our iconic slice to the frozen pizza aisle in stores across America.
So obviously, we have a love of a deeper dish pizza, but there is one place that Michiganders should be skipping if they want to enjoy a slice of America's favorite quick eat...
Go ahead and skip that deep dish trash from Chicago...
No, I'm not going to trash a place here in the mitten state because from Buddy's Pizza to the beloved JB's pizza down the street from me here in Alger Heights, we have access to some incredible slices.
But if you think you like deep dish and you find yourself in the windy city, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the lasagna disguised as pizza that they are pushing off on the rest of the country.
In fact, they even tried to bring their most famous pizza place, Giordano's to West Michigan in Holland, only for it to close its doors pre-pandemic in 2019. Because let's be honest- we know good pizza, and that Chicago deep dish isn't it.
So here's your warning- if you love a Michigander or are a Michigander, skip that weird saucy mess from Illinois and stick to the real deep dish worth enjoying: Detroit-style deep dish.
