West Michigan Weather: Extreme Heat Wave Set to Push Heat Index Past 100
Living in Michigan means you have to deal with whatever kind of weather that mother nature throws your way.

We're halfway through 2026, and have already had to deal with all kinds of crazy West Michigan weather including severe weather, bitter cold temperatures, tons of lake effect snowfall, several deadly tornadoes and thunderstorms that left destruction in its wake.

The one thing that I look forward to is when the cold weather finally goes away and the temperature starts to warm up so it's nice enough to spend time outside enjoying it.
Well the weather in West Michigan is going to be warming up soon, but it's expected to be way hotter than anyone would like.
Extreme Heat Expected Across West Michigan
This weekend the sun is expected to be shining and temperatures should be in the lower to mid 80's which is a little warmer than I like, but still very enjoyable.
However, when the weekend ends, a massive high pressure system will be arriving with thick and miserable tropical air that will bring heat and mugginess that's expected to last most of the week.
- Monday June 29th high of 94°F with a projected heat index of 100°F
- Tuesday June 30th high of 97°F with a projected heat index of 100°F
- Wednesday July 1st high of 95°F with a projected heat index of 100°F
- Thursday July 2nd with high of 95°F with a projected heat index of 103°F
This extreme heat is no joke!
Make sure you avoid the extreme heat and stay hydrated.
If there are things you need to do outside, try to do them early in the morning or later at night to avoid heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Also make sure you check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they're doing ok.
