Michigan Vietnam Vet Dies Without Family, Funeral Parlor Asks If You Can Attend His Funeral
A Michigan Vietnam veteran who dedicated his later life to honoring those who served has passed away. He had no known family so the funeral home handing his arrangements is asking any one who can make it to support his burial.
The Niles Daily Star printed the plea from Brown Funeral Home. The service for Wayne Wilson will be held on July 17 at 2PM at Sliverbrook Cemetary, which is located on M-51 in Niles.
Wayne Wilson, 67, of Niles, passed away at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at Silverbrook Cemetery on July 17, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.
A funeral home worker who was familiar with Wayne related that "every year, Wayne would be the first person at Silverbrook Cemetery for the annual Memorial Day Parade."
