The Grand Blanc Police Department posted a video on Facebook in which they say that they were called to Creasy Bicentennial Park by park staff after the puppy was discovered in the port-a-potty.

They say that the poor little creature had likely been left in the port-a-potty for at least two days, and when found he only had a small bowl of food, no water, and was "freezing".

Police say that the dog, Hank, was abandoned by a 25-year-old woman from Grand Blanc Township who told officers that she had learned that her landlord would not allow tenants to have pit bulls and she thought that abandoning the dog at the park was the only solution that she had.

Thankfully, an employee of the company that services the port-a-potties at the park discovered Hank before it was too late.

The woman has been arrested, but her name has not been released as she has not yet been arraigned.

The police department is urging people who adopt or purchase dogs to be responsible pet owners.

They're also reminding pet owners to bring their animals inside during this cold snap that has hit the entire state of Michigan. At the very least, they say, make a nice, warm shelter for them outside.

How is Hank the Puppy Doing After Being Abandoned in a Port-a-Potty at a Michigan Park?

Police say that Hank is doing well. He's staying with the employee who discovered him in the port-a-potty and is "being well taken care of".

A local veterinarian - Grand Blanc Veterinary Hospital - has stepped up to provide all of Hank's first-year shots for free, as well as getting him neutered once he's old enough. Local PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus stores have also stepped up to donate puppy food for Hank.
