Michigan is known for many things but one of the most Iconic things is the Great Lakes.

Four of the five Great Lakes touch Michigan's shorelines; sorry, Lake Ontario.
On the west side of the state you've got Lake Michigan.
On the northern side of the Upper Peninsula you'll find Lake Superior.
On the east side of the state and touching Michigan's thumb is Lake Huron.
And last but not least is Lake Erie, located southeast of Detroit and sharing a border with that one state that begins with an O (Ohio).
