Michigan State Police K-9 Unit Gets Unexpected Backup From a Goat

I've heard of police departments having K-9's to help find drugs, and assist law enforcement in trying to catch a bad guy, but I've never heard of a goat doing this before.

Michigan State Police recently tried to catch a suspect fleeing on a motorcycle.

While they didn't catch the bad guy they did make a new friend.

A Nigerian Dwarf goat showed up last week while Michigan State Police near the Marshall Post investigated a crash.

According to post on X by the MSP Fifth District, after the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail the driver ran away on foot into the woods.

In an attempt to track down and arrest the driver, a perimeter was set up around the area to hopefully catch the bad guy.

MSP also requested a K-9 to track the suspect.

While MSP continued the search and started to collect evidence on the scene the goat ended up showing up out of nowhere and jumped into the back of the cruiser.

While the G-9 didn't get invited to help track down the suspect, he did become a beloved unofficial G-9 partner to the MSP post.

I don't know if goats do anything that could be beneficial to local law enforcement, but if there is something, I think all departments need to get them a goat or two on the force.
