Most of the time when you see police body cam footage on the news it's about something terrible that happened between an officer and a civilian.

That's why it's so nice to see what was recently captured on a Muskegon police officer's body cam.
His interaction with a homeless man shows what it truly means to "Protect and Serve".

Officer Walsh went back to his police vehicle and took out his Jimmy Johns sandwich which he had just taken a few bites from before the call.
He also grabbed his drink and gave it to the man.
Fox 17 spoke with Officer Walsh who shared that he came from a rough background and also knows what it's like to be hungry.
"This job is to relate, to humanize, The job is to provide empathy, sympathy to the community, to provide support, understand that you know, they're just as human as we are."
In a world where we always seem to hear about the bad things that happen between people and cops, I love seeing this touching interaction that shows how a little kindness can go a long way.
