This sounds fun and is already on my calendar so when I come across it during the winter, it gives me hopes for shorts, flip flops and lake days!

MLive is reporting that Joe Bidawid, a former professional windsurfer, is bringing the Great Lakes Surf Festival to Muskegon, Saturday, August 18th.  The event, which will take place at Pere Marquette Park, will be hosting stand-up paddleboarders, kayakers, kiteboarders, and windsurfers.

If you’re attending the festival, you can also set up camp for the weekend beachside, along Lake Michigan Friday and Saturday night.

According to MLive, the festival will have quite a bit going on that weekend:

The day will include workshops, free lessons, product demos, stand up paddleboard and kayak races, paddleboard yoga and a wave generator to ensure suitable conditions for surfing. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, as well as merchandise.
