You read that right -- Link, Zelda, Ganon and all of Hyrule are coming to Netflix in the form of a live action TV series.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Netflix is creating a live action TV series based on The Legend of Zelda. Let that settle in for a moment -- The Legend of Zelda and Netflix. Nintendo is finally giving the masses what they want in the form of Link and Zelda's story told in a high caliber fashion. Netflix is still in the early stages of developing this live action series and is seeking writers and other members of its production team. The TV series is being described behind the scenes as 'Game of Thrones'-like, but a little more family friendly in terms of its content, and we're fine with that. Nintendo is closely involved with the project, and we have a feeling this series' debut might coincide with the release of Link's upcoming adventure on the Wii U, which is expected to launch sometime this year.

Unfortunately, both Netflix and Nintendo's representatives have yet to make any official comments on the project. Stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on this upcoming Legend of Zelda Netflix series once more information is available.
