A brand new 42-story tower has been proposed as the latest addition to the downtown skyline.  The new development would become the largest building in Grand Rapids and reach 8-stories taller than the current tallest building, the River House Condominiums.

The Hinman Company of Portage plans to erect the mix use facility at 10 Ionia Ave NW.  The site is currently a corner parking lot across the street from San Chez restaurant.

The first 11 floors of the building would be purposed as a hotel, with the remaining floors to be used as a residential space.

Because of the location of the project, The Grand Rapids Historic Preservation Committee will be reviewing the plans on July 6th.  It is currently unclear how the committee will perceive the project.

Would you like this project to move forward and add to the already growing Grand Rapids skyline?
