Got wine-lovers on your Christmas list? A new wine and jazz club is now offering curbside pickup at their location downtown Grand Rapids.

Owners Shatawn and Nadia Brigham had planned to open GR Noir at 35 S. Division Ave. months ago... but then, of course, the pandemic happened.

An article in NEU GVSU described GR Noir as "a place for people to unwind and enjoy fine wine and relaxing sounds of jazz music". In addition to providing a new gathering place, the Brighams are also seeking to break down racial barriers within the industry.

Nadia told NEU,

“When you think about wine and the making of wine, there is a growing number of black and brown folks who are entering into this space, whether consumption, distributing, making their own wines and labeling their own wines That’s exciting for us because it’s really about lowering these racial barriers in areas that the industry didn’t believe we were interested in.”

According to Grand Rapids Magazine, GR Noir is now taking wine and food orders by phone at (616) 719-1191 and online. Wine orders may be placed online, food orders must be called in.

On their curbside menu, GR Noir is offering tasty small plates like smoked salmon tartine, bruschetta, a brisket slider trio, banana pudding, and chocolate cake.

Currently they're open 2p.m. to 10p.m. and closed on Sundays.

Shatawn tells GR Mag,

“We’ve stocked a lot of interesting and tasteful wines that patrons can buy for themselves or order online to go to friends and family. Although we can’t yet hold our grand opening, our wine club is open to new members, and I’m happy to discuss wine selections with anyone who calls.”

You can find info on GR Noir's wine club here.

Once they're able to open, you'll be able see performances from local and regional jazz artists at GR Noir. They also plan to wine shipment throughout the state soon-- stay tuned to their Facebook page and website for updates.
