Roll for Taste: New Holland’s Dungeons & Dragons Stout Is Back
This fall, your next Dungeons & Dragons campaign might just start at the bar.
New Holland Brewing Company is once again joining forces with Wizards of the Coast for a brew worthy of both tavern bards and beer nerds: the Dragon’s Milk Dungeons & Dragons Coconut Rum Barrel.
A re-release long sought by fans (and possibly whispered about in alehouses across the realm), this stout packs an 11% ABV and the classic vanilla and chocolate flavors Dragon’s Milk is famed for.
Now, it’s joined by coconut notes and a smooth rum finish. In other words, it’s like a treasure chest for your taste buds (only without the risk of a mimic attack.)
The packaging pays homage to the fearsome Dragon Turtle, a monster from the D&D universe known for sinking pirate ships along the Sword Coast. It’s the kind of sea beast you wouldn’t want to encounter. Unless, of course, it came bearing craft beer.
This is the second time New Holland has teamed up with Wizards of the Coast, following last year’s D20 Brew Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout and Origin Mead Cask Bourbon Whiskey, both part of the D&D 50th anniversary celebrations.
The collaboration targets what the brewery calls the “beer-loving nerd dad” demographic. though let’s be honest, you don’t have to be a dad (or even roll a nat 20) to enjoy it.
Fans can expect more magical brews in the future, with the brewery hinting at additional Dragon’s Milk and D&D collaborations later this year.
Until then, it might be wise to clear some space in your inventory (and maybe gather your party) for when this legendary pour hits shelves and taps.
