New Record High Temps Set Around W. MI Over Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend was HOT. In fact, on Sunday according to FOX 17, Grand Rapids set a new record high of 93-degrees on Sunday. The old record was 92-degrees set back in 1911. They also said that Muskegon tied a record high of 86 degrees.
What a difference a day makes. Monday, WZZM 13 posted on Facebook that Muskegon set a record for highest temperature in May at 95 degrees. Interesting is to look at the comments on the post, and others are saying that it was closer to 100 degrees, including a few pics that show 100 and 101 degrees on a local business sign and on the Weather app.
For the record, Fox 17 reports Grand Rapids also topped the record high for May 28th at 94 degrees, which beats the record set back in 1977 of 92 degrees.
It’s not even June yet and we’ve already hit 90 a few times. I have a feeling it’s going to be a very long, hot summer.
I’m also guessing that Lake Michigan won’t be 54 degrees as it was on Saturday, for much longer.
