Why This Michigan Police Department is Roaring for the Lions
The Detroit Lions are back-to-back NFC North Champions and have secured a first-round bye in the NFL playoffs.
To celebrate this achievement, a police department in Michigan is allowing its staff to wear Lions gear while on duty.
From now until the end of the Lions' playoff run, Oakland County Sherriff's Office personnel can don hats and beanies representing the team.

Oakland County Sherriff Michael Bouchard told the Oakland Press that he's doing this to promote camaraderie and community spirit while maintaining the professionalism of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
He also told the Oakland Press that his department and the Lions have a lot in common:
“I believe that our team and the Detroit Lions have a lot in common. Both are a group of highly motivated people with grit, determination and a huge heart who perform at the highest level,” Bouchard stated in a news release. “Both have faced huge challenges in their respective professions and yet pulled together and go out every day ready to take on all challenges.
