Yesterday was the Making Strides walk for American Cancer Society downtown Grand Rapids.

Making Strides is the annual walk downtown Grand Rapids for the American Cancer Society. The purpose of the walk and gathering is to honor breast cancer fighters and survivors while also raising money for great local heath and survivor programs.  Unfortunately cancer touches more lives that we’d like.. a lot of families are affected.

That’s why is was great to see hundreds of people show up in pink to show their support and help raise funds.

People were even encouraged to decorate bras in memory of those who have fought the batte of breast cancer.  Those bras were then displayed on the Blue Bridge as part of “Bras Across The Grand”, which was the last leg of the walk.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Bras Across the Grand participants in West Michigan share a determination to help finish the fight against breast cancer. Together, with the American Cancer Society they raise awareness and funds to help save lives from breast cancer.

All in all, it was a truly inspiring day.  Christine and I were honored to be a part of it!
