Even though we've seen sunshine and the snow doesn't seem to stay on the ground, it's still winter.  But that doesn't mean we can't start thinking and planning for the warmer days ahead.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has updated their Plant Hardiness Zone Map for the first time in over 1o years.

Now is the time to update your garden plans.

There are so many variables when it comes to gardening and what will grow where, but the Plant Hardiness Zone Map is the place to start when making your plans.

Not surprisingly, there are many different zones in Michigan.  Even a lot of variation across West Michigan.  Searching the map is no problem.  Visit the USDA site and enter your zip code. You'll be able to start your plans from there.

Can't wait to get some hot peppers planted.
