Trinity Health Grand Rapids Debuts Michigan’s First Radixact Radiation Therapy
Many people come to West Michigan when they want to receive the best health care possible.

A great example of that is what Trinity Health Grand Rapids just announced
The Richard J. Lacks Sr. Cancer Center is the first in Michigan to use the new Radixact Radiation Therapy system.
What the Radixact Radiation System Can Do
This new technology treats cancers of the head, neck, lung, and prostate using image-guided, real-time adaptive radiation.
The Radixact system tracks both the tumor and the patient’s natural movements, such as breathing, during treatment

This allows it to automatically adjust the beam’s aim and dose to stay focused on the tumor, reducing exposure to nearby healthy tissue.
This is great news for patients for several reasons:
More Precise: Traditional radiation can’t easily adjust for movement like breathing, but Radixact continuously tracks and corrects the beam’s aim in real time.
Personalized care: The system adapts to each patient’s unique anatomy and can modify treatment as a tumor changes during therapy.
Less damage to healthy areas: Automatic adjustments mean fewer side effects such as fatigue or nausea.
Faster treatments: The improved accuracy allows shorter, more comfortable sessions.

This technology is so incredible to me.
If you know anyone that's gone through chemo you're well aware that it can be draining on the person receiving treatment as well as their family and friends that watch them go through and deal with the terrible side effects.
Hopefully this new technology will help reduce those devastating side effects and help kick cancer's butt.
