Replicas of Columbus’ the Niña and Pinta Are Stopping In Muskegon Next Month
If you’ve got a ship talker in the family, mark this on the calendar! August 25th through the 29th, replicas of the Niña and the Pinta will be docked at Heritage Landing in Muskegon.
These are replicas of the original ships used by Christopher Columbus. According to the ships’ owners, The Columbus Foundation, the Niña is “likely the most authentic replica Columbus era ship ever built.” The Niña comes in at 65 feet and the Pinta is even bigger at 85 feet long.
The ships' visit to Muskegon happens during the Shoreline Jazz Festival which is happening that weekend August 26 &27th.
Tours will be available daily from 9 am to 6 pm while the ship is docked; $8 for adults, $6 for children 5-16 years-old and seniors 60 and older are $7. The tours are how the Columbus Foundation continues to preserve these floating museums.
