This End-of-Year Michigan High School Tradition Just Turned Terrifying
A Michigan high school student almost lost his life while playing a popular game among high school kids.

The game has several names but most people know it as "Water Wars".
"Water Wars" (often called "Senior Assassin") is a popular end-of-year elimination game where high school seniors compete for a cash pot by trying to soak opponents with water guns.
If you win water wars you could win a good amount of money because players usually pay $10-$20 as an entry fee with the chance of winning all of the money.

When I worked at a radio station in Indianapolis, my old GM asked my morning show to help his daughter get a few of her friends out by giving them a tour of the station and she would get when they came into the studio.
The game seems fun and harmless but in rare situations it can turn dangerous.
A Michigan teen found that out recently when he was trying to get someone out by squirting them with his water gun.
They ended up pointing their water gun at a Davison Township police officer and squirting him with water thinking it was the kid he was trying to get out.
The officer was responding to reports of a suspicious person.
Thankfully, the officer didn't draw his weapon and fire at the teen or this innocent game could have turned deadly.
