Sewage Spill into the Grand River Causes a ‘No Body Contact’ Advisory
The Ottawa County Health Department has issued a No Body Contact Advisory to residents after some sewage spilled into the Grand River.
FOX 17 says the sewage spill happened Monday and affects a portion of the river; a mile east of the US-31 bridge over the river and downstream to Lake Michigan. The health department was notified about the spillage from the Grand Haven/Spring Lake Sewer Authority.
Although it's probably too cold jump in the water, officials are warning people not to jump in or have any type of body contact with the river until the advisory is removed.
It is unknown what caused the spillage.
