This week's Daddy Tips are focusing on Steve's toddler, Charlotte as she begins to talk more and play harder outside this fall.

  1. Today’s first Daddy Tip is something to help you get through the fall.  Since it’s fall, that means rain, mud, and just general yuckiness that isn’t a thing in the summer.  And with that yuckiness comes completely ruined shoes on your toddler.  So you need to get a designated pair of “its nasty outside and these are our puddle jumping shoes” shoes.  I learned the hard way that kids destroy shoes so literally all of Charlotte’s shoes now look like crap.  Don’t be like me!
  2. The next Daddy Tip is to start your kid talking in full sentences as soon as possible.  Charlotte can easily communicate with 3 to 4 word sentences to us but to other people it might just seem like gibberish.  So when she says something like this… “watch a Halloween movie?”  We try to get her to say it in a full sentence like this… “Can I watch a Halloween movie, please?” Sure it isn’t perfect, but she is definitely starting to learn how to talk in sentences.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is to never tell your toddler that you are going to do something fun until you literally moments away from leaving.  Charlotte is anything but patient, so when I tell her that we are going to go on a walk with our dog in an hour, she will  ask non stop if we can go until we leave.  And heaven forbid that I tell her in the morning about something we are going to do that night.  So I’ve found it’s just better to tell Charlotte that we are going to the park at the exact moment we are going to the park otherwise I’m gonna hear “Daddy, let’s go to the park.  Daddy, can we go?  Let’s go!  Let’s go!” all day.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke, this one comes from Click of Six member Zachary.
