If I were mayor, I’d take this idea and run with it!

In Muncie Indiana, the police department teamed up with the Muncie Animal Care Shelter and let people pay off their parking tickets with items for cats since the Muncie ACS was currently overloaded with cats and kittens.

They ran the campaign Monday through Friday the week of July 15th and just said,

we are allowing folks to pay their parking tickets in cat food, kitten food, or kitty litter! Bring a donation in the amount of your ticket.

As you can see in a follow-up post, the room they had for the donations was crammed full and the police department said most of the donations came from people without any tickets.

This is a great way to help get awareness out and needs filled for the shelters while also handling city business.

Would you like to see this around West Michigan?.
