A 33-year-old slice of cake from the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana back in 1981 has sold at auction for $1,375.

Over a grand for a slice of old cake?!? For real?!?

The cake was still in its white and silver presentation box and was sold online by Nate D. Sanders Auctions out of Los Angeles.

With the box was a card that said, “With best wishes from Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince & Princess of Wales.”

While this is a pretty cool piece of history to own, I guess, it seems awfully weird to buy a super old piece of cake that you can never actually eat. I mean, I guess you *could* eat it, but... ew.
