You Can Now See The Soo Locks Up Close And Personal At Engineers Day 2022
For the first time since the Covid-19 Pandemic began, visitors will be allowed back to get an up-close look at the Soo Locks during Engineers Day 2022. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will welcome visitors from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24th for Engineers Day 2022.

Wikipedia says Engineer's Day is observed in several countries on various dates of the year. As of 19 January 1996, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) has designated March 4th as 'World Engineering Day for a Sustainable World'.

The Director of the Sault Area Convention and Vistors Bureau Linda Hoath said in a press release.
“The Soo Locks are so important to our history and our community; this annual event helps us celebrate that.” “Last year we closed the street and had great success, we look forward to combining the street closure with the locks being opened to the public.”
Other Activities Happening On Engineers Day 2022
-The U.S. Coast Guard will host an open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
-The Sault Ste. Marie City Hall grounds will host a craft show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
-The Lake Superior State University Center for Freshwater Research and Education will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
