I've never met anyone who didn't like ice cream, well, unless they're lactose intolerant.

Even then, they're probably willing to deal with the consequences for a bowl

Here in Michigan there are many popular flavors that have ties to our state.
Some of these include: Blue Moon, Mackinac Island Fudge, Moose Tracks, and the always popular Superman.
But is Michigan really the home of Superman ice cream?
I decided to take a deeper look and try to find an answer.
Was Superman Ice Cream Really Invented In Michigan?
I've always liked Superman ice cream, not only for how it tastes but also because the red, blue, and yellow colors are the same as those of Superman's costume.
I liked it even more when I found out that Michigan is credited as being the home of the tasty flavor.
According to Wikipedia, Superman ice cream is believed to have been created in Detroit, Michigan, by Stroh's Brewery.
If you find yourself wondering, "Why would a brewery make ice cream?" that's a great question.
Back during the Prohibition Era, Stroh's couldn't brew beer and needed to make some alternative products. That's when they apparently created the iconic ice cream flavor.

I never heard of that story before, and I think it's so cool that because of Prohibition, we now have Superman ice cream.
What if Prohibition had never happened?
Would we have ended up with Superman ice cream?
I'm glad we don't have to worry about it.
