This is the best news to start off a Taco Tuesday!

Two of your favorite combinations are coming to Grand Rapids for one big celebration. The Taco & Tequila Festival will be held at Fifth Third Ballpark on May 2nd "...for the ultimate Cinco de Mayo pre-party."

The festival will include lots and lots of types of tacos from various vendors, tequila samples, and mixed drinks. You don't have to worry about getting a babysitter either because there will also be live entertainment, kids play area with activities, and yard games. Make sure to stick around for the taco judging contest too.

The festival has previously been held in Kalamazoo the past couple of years but the organizer told MLive,

It’s an opportunity to bring the event to a new market, to a new group of people that maybe didn’t get to attend the event in the past.

Two types of tickets will be available for purchase starting March 6:

  • VIP: $50 for admission from 1p-4p and gets you 5 taco samples, 10 drink samples, a gift, and a souvenir cup.
  • General Admission: $25 from 5p-8p and gets you 3 taco samples, 5 drink samples, and a souvenir cup.

And for those that will be the D.D. for their friends, we praise you, and you can buy tickets for "just the tacos."

The event is expected to sell out quickly so get yourself on the priority list to get in the know before everyone else.

A list of vendors will be announced closer to the date but to get an idea here are some vendors from last year's event in Kalamazoo.
