Movie making used to be some what of a big deal in Michigan, but it dried up. Will they come come back?

Several locations in Grand Rapids have been featured in several movies throughout the years.

$13 million is disappointing?  Only in Hollywood. '30 Minutes Or Less' opened Friday and finished the weekend with $13 million.  That's a lot of pizzas, but short of the $28 million that it cost to make the movie that was filmed in Grand Rapids.

'30 Minutes or Less' was shot in Grand Rapids last August.  The movie, which stars Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, and Nick Swardson, opens nationwide August 12.  It had a special Grand Rapids premiere last night.

A barrage of shots.  Making sushi in the back of a kitchen.  Sleeping against a street lamp outside.  Is this the twisted plot of a new comedy?  No.  Just a night out in Grand Rapids for Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, and Nick Swardson the stars of '30 Minutes or Less'.
