All Hail Grand Rapids!  For we are the best at beer!  Grand Rapids tops yet another list of cities in the beer department.  USA Today ranks GR as the #1 beer scene in the country.  And why shouldn't it be?  We've been Beer City USA, we had one of our bars get named the 2nd best beer bar in the country, we have amazing breweries and we have more and more of them popping up all over the city... No, that's not a typo. Grand Rapids did rank among the top 10 in Redfin's "Top 15 City's for Beer Lovers" list; but we only nabbed the No.4 position, not No. 1. Huh? What cities could have possibly beaten out Beer City USA?

County Health Rankings has released their annual report which ranks counties in Michigan. This week, we are looking at what we learned about West Michigan from the report. First, binge drinking in Michigan. Kent County has one of the highest rates in Michigan.

There's no doubt about it, Grand Rapids is an awesome city. We've got lots of attractions and fun things always going on, we're a family friendly city and appeal to the younger crowd as well. Grand Rapids has A LOT to offer so no wonder why we make so many "best of" lists...

Beer City USA has nabbed another beer-related honor! Grand Rapids has been named "Best Beer Scene" in a USA Today and 10 Best reader's poll.

Beer City USA could nab another beer-related honor! Grand Rapids is in the running for "Best Bar Scene" in a USA Today and 10 Best reader's poll.

Grand Rapids wins another title in the name of craft beer! Already the reigning Beer City USA, Grand Rapids has now claimed the title  “Best Beer Town in the USA” in USA Today's and 10Best's annual poll. The honor was just bestowed at noon. Tampa; Asheville, N.C.; Bend, Ore.; and Fort Collins, Colo., were also in the top five.

Last year, Grand Rapids had to share the title of Beer City, USA with Asheville, North Carolina. This year, we didn't feel like sharing and after all 50,000 votes were tallied by the folks at Examiner.com, Grand Rapids came out on top. We are, once again (and this time without having to share), Beer City, USA!

Grand Rapids is Beer City USA! Let's keep it that way. It's time to defend our title in the annual vote for Beer City USA.

We Michiganders know that we have some amazing breweries right here in the Mitten State. Heck, everyone in West Michigan knows that we have the best breweries, hands down (suck it, Asheville). And now, USA Today has bestowed us with another title, honoring our awesome beer.

Grand Rapids is Beer City USA! It's a title we share with Asheville, North Carolina...although we all know who the REAL Beer City USA is. Voting for the 2013 Beer City USA title begins May 6. Asheville is aiming for the title with a new video.

Grand Rapids is Beer City, USA, and now we've added a new brewery into the mix. The Mitten Brewing Co. opens its doors to the public Thursday, just in time for the World Series. Check out some photos from their soft opening after the jump!
