Kent County Animal Shelter has announce the grand opening of the facility's new 44,000-square-foot outdoor expansion, a state-of-the-art dog park for the canines who temporarily call the shelter home.

Dog owners and lovers, rejoice! On Wednesday morning, plans for a dog park near downtown Grand Rapids were approved by the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority.

The City of Muskegon has reached it's goal of raising $50,000 to construct a leashless downtown dog park.  The campaign's funding was greatly aided by a $25,000 grant from PetSafe. PetSafe launched 'Bark for Your Park' in 2011 to help communities build off-leash dog parks all around the country...
