For the third consecutive year Founders Brewing Co. will brew a beer for ArtPrize which will also help raise money for the event. This year's beer will be brewed in the traditional Kolsch style and is called Spectra Trifecta.

New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan has vetoed a bill which would have allowed Founders Brewing Co. to begin selling Breakfast Stout in New Hampshire. The young child on the label is what's creating the problem. Hassan released a statement saying "loosening restrictions on referring to minors could undermine our efforts to prevent underage drinking."

In a bracket-style tournament similar to that of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, Founders Brewing Co. has made it to the national championship for Best Brewery in America, as decided by voters on Thrillist.

Founders Brewing Co. announced Tuesday that they plan to expand their brewery production facility at their current site, 235 Grandville Ave SW. Pending approvals, Founders expects to break ground on this expansion in late October.

ArtPrize begins Sept. 24, but you don't have to wait until next month to enjoy a taste of ArtPrize. This year's ArtPrize beer, Mosaic Promise, premieres at Founders Brewing Co. on Aug. 20.

Founders just released their popular All Day IPA in cans. Today, they followed up that release with some more beer can news. Founders Centennial IPA will also be released in cans.

Last week, I told you that HopCat in downtown Grand Rapids, along with Founder's tap room, were up for the title of Great American Beer Bar. Well, with the help of the people of Grand Rapids, Hopcat was named the number two beer bar in the entire country!

Grand Rapids now holds the title of "Beer City, USA", and now two local bars are vying for the title of "Great American Beer Bar". Both Hopcat and Founder's Taproom are up for the honor in CraftBeer.com's contest for the North Central Region.
