The Hose, Underwear, and Kids Songs – Steve’s Daddy Tips
Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!
Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke! So let's get to the tips!
- Today’s first Daddy Tip is to get your little one familiar with the hose now that it is nice outside again. The first time Charlotte was around when we used the hose she was scared of it. But now after a few times being around it, she is having a ball! It makes for some great picture and video moments, plus you can tell your toddler to spray the heck out of people and they can’t get mad at a baby!
- The next Daddy Tip is to give your baby some of your underwear and see what he or she does with it. OK, that sounds weird, but I was folding laundry and Charlotte grabbed a pair of my boxers and some socks and was trying to figure out how to wear them. Well, she put the undies on her head like a hat and was wearing the socks like mittens. Adorable and hilarious! And be sure to send your little one to show off their new look to everyone else in the house for a good laugh!
- The final Daddy Tip is to start memorizing some kids songs from the shows your little one watches so that you can embarrass them with it later in life. I have been memorizing songs from PBS Kids’ Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood so I can bust them out when Charlotte is a teenager. Their songs will be especially embarrassing because they all try to teach a lesson so they can be used at very funny times. Like if teenage Charlotte doesn’t want to eat her brussels sprouts, you can bust out this song. Or if she is complaining about waiting you can bus this one out. And be sure to sing them loud so they are extra embarrassing!
And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!
Q: Why did the old man fall in the well?
A: Because he couldn’t see that well!
