Irrational Fear, Merriam-Webster defines it as:  “not governed by or according to reason.” But try telling that to our psyche!  Almost everyone has at least one irrational fear, maybe it’s bridges, elevators or even dryer lint (whaa?) But I’m surprised how many revolve around walking along the sidewalk.

Some people are deathly afraid of walking across one of these

You know, because you might fall into that deep, dark hole.

Because of Stephen King’s IT, there are adults that fear this:

Luckily I’ve never seen one with a clown inside of it; I would probably pee myself if so!

I on the other hand, have a ridiculous fear when I cross the street. My fear is that I walk to slow and will be hit by a car.

Now this fear is completely unfounded; I have never been hit by a car nor do I get honked at a lot or ever,  to get out the way when crossing the street; but for some reason, the minute I start to cross the road I feel like I’m walking in slow motion and that I’ll never reach the other side.

Worst part is, I realized this weekend, I actually think about this when I’m not even near a crosswalk or on the sidewalk. Saturday, I was in my hotel room, looking for a place to eat and I seriously started thinking about how many crosswalks I’d have to walk through, and I started getting a bit weirded out. That’s when I realized I truly have an irrational fear of crossing the street. I’m not sure what my point of all this is, other than if I ever get hit by a car, you can be my witness that I was afraid it was going to happen.

I know I’m not alone here, what irrational fears do you have?
