On Tuesday night (May 21), NBC's 2019 The Voice Season 16 winner announcement came as a surprise to many viewers!

Aside from crowning the winner, the finale episode also included showstopping performances from Taylor Swift, Brendon Urie, Jonas Brothers, Travis Tritt, Khalid, BTS, OneRepublic, Hootie & The Blowfish and Halsey.

But first: Who won Season 16 of The Voice?

The top four finalists of The Voice ended up being Andrew Sevener (Team Blake), Gyth Rigdon (Team Blake), Dexter Roberts (Team Blake) and Maelyn Jarmon (Team John). Fourth place went to Sevener, third place went to Roberts, and second place to Rigdon, making The Voice Season 16 winner Maelyn Jarmon — Team John Legend!

Sparks flew and Legend bear-hugged Jarmon as she took the crown. Both screamed and were presented with the trophy while her family rushed the stage.

The winner not only gains the bragging rights of being "The Voice," but also receives a trophy, a major record deal and $100,000 cash prize. Previous seasons' winners have signed with Universal Music Group and Big Machine Label Group. Each of the top four contestants also received a new car from Toyota.
