It’s ‘The Voice’ Vers[es] ‘American Idol’ in a Battle for Pop Star Advisers
American Idol and The Voice are reportedly feuding over who gets to determine the winners on each show. It's a showdown of judges against coaches, according to TMZ.
"A source familiar with negotiations between Idol and Kelly Clarkson -- on the Idol side -- told us they won't be fooled again," TMZ writes. The article goes on to say that Kelly Clarkson ultimately went with The Voice due to salary demands. Supposedly, American Idol team members feel the singer was stolen out from under them once rumors began that they were interested in her.
Jennifer Hudson was also recently announced as an upcoming The Voice coach.
TMZ quotes an American Idol sources as saying The Voice shifted "into overdrive to lock down" Hudson and Clarkson when they found out the pop stars were wanted by their competition. And now, TMZ notes, American Idol plans to keep their future judge choices as quiet as possible.
