These Michigan Students Received A Rockin’ Heel Donation From Dolly Parton

I can safely say that most people probably agree with me that Dolly Parton is an absolute queen.

From her iconic music, to her adorably wholesome Tennessee theme park, down to her donations of books to children across America, she's someone we can all admire.

And she's adding another jewel to her crown this week after her incredibly kind donation to the East Jordan Shoe Club.

What is the East Jordan Shoe Club?

The East Jordan Shoe Club was founded in 2008 by East Jordan Middle School teacher Matt Hamilton. The purpose of the Shoe Club is to help kids deal with life's issues in appropriate ways, set goals, dream big. work hard, and give back.

In order to join the club, Mr. Hamilton asks the 7th and 8th grade students to read the motivational book "Value Up", then to write a paper about how it made them feel. After that, they're encouraged to bring a shoe to leave in his classroom. These shoes hang as reminders to all his students about working hard, making good choices, not bullying others, and walking in each other’s shoes

Along with middle school student shoes in the classroom, we have been contacting amazing people from around the world and collecting their shoes to display in the classroom including Michael Jordan, Shaun White, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, and now the queen of country music herself, Dolly Parton!

What did Dolly Parton donate to the East Jordan Shoe Club?

Dolly loves a great cause, especially if it's about teaching kindness to others. So, she donated these bright red heels.

But the coolest part of her donation? She wore these heels recently during the recording of her soon to be released rock 'n roll album. The upcoming release is said to be titled "Rock Star", and will feature cameos from Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Pink, and other rock icons.

So not only do the students at East Jordan Middle School get the reminder of the hard work those heels put in, they're also in the presence of something used to make history.
