All Students In Michigan Should Be Taught These 5 Real Life Skills
Students in Michigan will be back in the classroom in just a few short weeks.

They will be learning about different subjects such as math, science, history, social studies, and many more that will serve them well.
But I believe there are some essential skills that are not being taught in most Michigan schools and should be.
All Students In Michigan Should Be Taught These 5 Real Life Skills
I've picked out five things that all Michigan schools should teach kids.
Laundry: I understand you're supposed to look at the tags and read if things go in Hot or Cold water and how to dry them.
But when it comes to doing it I seem to mess something up every single time and have my wife Lindsey ready to kill me because I shrank another one of her shirts.
Cooking: I'm not talking about putting a pizza in the oven, or making a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich together.
I'm talking about knowing how to cook things such as chicken to the correct temperature so you don't get sick.
I think I had a Little Caesars Hot N' Ready almost every night in my early 20s because it was cheap and easy and I didn't have to cook it.
Car Maintenance: There are a lot of things that would be nice to know about owning and maintaining a car.
I learned how to change my oil by watching a Youtube video.
But whenever my check engine light goes off and I head into a repair shop they see dollar signs because I have no clue if what they're telling me needs to be done is really necessary or if I'm just being taken for a sucker.
Budgeting: I'm actually pretty good with money but that's because my parents were not and it caused a lot of stress in my life as a child.
I remember going through bankruptcy and I remember losing our house after my dad died.
Too many people I know and care about are in massive credit card debt and have no clue about how to budget and are just stuck in a seemingly endless cycle.
How To Drive: I'm amazed every time I hop on the highway in Michigan and see drivers that don't know how to merge onto a highway.
Also, so many people don't know what a turn signal is.
And the biggest thorn in my side is people that don't know how to properly merge when two lanes become one.
Instead, they try to play traffic cop and block people from going to the end and merging so that the traffic keeps flowing.
