Titanium Plate Saves Man’s Life During Grand Rapids Shooting Tragedy
Robert Poore was driving his truck in Grand Rapids on Grandville Avenue yesterday afternoon when a man, later identified as Rodrick Dantzler, drove towards him and began shooting at his truck. Poore was hit in the face by a bullet, but through a small miracle the bullet ricocheted off of his nose.
Poore has a titanium plate in his nose. He has had the titanium plate since it was inserted as part of the cancer treatment he received as a child. Poore was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released the same day.
I have a hard time calling anyone who gets shot in the face lucky. But in this instance, I think the word fits.
