Toilet Training, Time Changes, and Showers – Steve’s Daddy Tips (11-4-20)
Steve's Daddy Tips are pretty crappy this week. That's not because they are bad, but because they have to do with using the potty.
- Today’s first Daddy Tip is for anyone who is in the process of potty training. Get a toddler potty seat and stool for your toilet as soon as you can. We made the mistake of letting Charlotte us her little potty the entire time she potty trained and now she is scared to use the toilet. Having to clean out a mini potty multiple times a day is worse than changing diapers. Don’t be like us and get your toddler on the toilet as soon as possible.
- The next Daddy Tip this week is to never explain the time change of daylight savings time to your kids. In fact, if you have a clock in your kids room, don’t even change it so it always seems like it is later. We tell Charlotte the wrong time so that she thinks she is going to bed around 9 pm instead of like 7:30 or 8 pm. How is she supposed to know anyway? She’s not even 3 and she’s been going to bed much earlier since the time change.
- And the final Daddy Tip is for Dads who are looking to get a little bit of time away from the family. Don’t ever, ever poop or shower during your free time. Always make sure that you are pooping and showering when you can pawn off the kids on your significant other or your family. So, if you usually get free time in the morning and at night, make sure you use it for yourself and don’t waste it pooping or showering. Do those things when it inconveniences the rest of your family so you can get some free time for yourself.
And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!
