If you have an itchy flipper finger and get insanely hyped when the Who’s “Pinball Wizard” plays, this might be your sign to book a little Valentine’s Day Weekend escape to Traverse City.

Next week one of the most delightfully niche, joy-filled events in Michigan is taking over Right Brain Brewery in Traverse City: the Michigan Pinball State Championship.

Right Brain has long been a haven for old-school gamers, with more than 40 vintage pinball machines and classic arcade games, so it’s already a destination on its own. That’s why they’ve decided to find the best of the best in the mitten to have a state championship worthy of a brewery.

The three-day tournament runs February 13–15, and even if you’re not competing, it’s still going to be a blast to watch. Friday kicks things off with Classic Pinball. Saturday is the big one, featuring an all-day, multi-division main tournament.

And on Sunday they’ll wrap things up with a Sunday Funday Doubles finale. And some really great prizes are up for grabs if you have a golden flipper finger, They have a minimum $1,000 added to the prize pool plus 100% payout of entry fees along with many door prizes to be drawn during each tournament!

If you’re looking for something a little different this Valentine’s Day weekend, this might be it. Cold weather outside, warm lights inside, craft beer, and the unmistakable sounds of pinball echoing through the room. Honestly, it beats another dinner reservation.

For full details and pre-registration info, Right Brain Brewery has everything posted on their website. Just don’t be surprised if you leave Traverse City suddenly convinced you need a pinball machine in your basement.
