
Trek For Vets: The Inspiring Story Behind the 500-Mile Walk Across Michigan
Lawrence Miller is a former Marine who has embarked on a 500 journey across the state of Michigan to help veterans like himself that are struggling with mental health issues.

In 2025, Lawrence Miller has a very simple idea, trek 200 miles in 12 days to help raise awareness of veteran isolation and crisis issues.
Now for 2026 he's taken it to another level by starting out on a 500 mile journey across Michigan in just 25 days.
Trek For Vets 2026 Path Route
Lawrence Miller started his 500-mile journey on May 1st in St. Ignace.
From there he went to Mackinac Island, then from Mackinac Island to Mackinaw City, and further from Mackinaw City to Traverse City.
Then he walked from Traverse City to Grand Rapids.

From there he will go from Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo to Lansing, Lansing to Chelsea, Chelsea to Milford, Milford to Northville, and finally, from Northville to Royal Oak where he will take part in the Royal Oak Memorial Day parade on May 25th.
Lawrence Miller shared with Fox 17 why this trek means so much for him and other former Marines.
"A handful of years ago, I went through the darkest time of my life, and if it wasn't for the handful of guys that drug me through that, I wouldn't be in the mental and physical state I am today. And if we can save one life doing this at all, then it's all worth it. Admitting you need help is one of the hardest things to do."
