The announcement was posted on social media and read:

"After a thorough analysis of all markets and venues, the United Football League has made the difficult decision to depart from Michigan. Unfortunately, due to stadium constraints, the available venues did not align with our vision of focusing on smaller, more intimate settings that elevate the fan experience. We are deeply grateful for the incredible support of our devoted Panthers fans. Your passion and commitment have been invaluable to the league. Further details about the league's next steps will be shared in our announcement next week."

It's a bummer to see the Panthers go, but there is a chance that they might one day come back to Detroit.

UFL officials are already exploring future opportunities in the city, particularly with Detroit City FC’s new stadium, set to open in 2027.

Thankfully football fans in Michigan still have great teams to cheer for.

At the college level there's Michigan and Michigan State, and of course the Detroit Lions in the NFL.
