I’ve always loved going to Van Andel Arena. Whether it’s catching a concert, cheering on the Grand Rapids Gold, or rallying with the Griffins in the playoffs, there’s just something about the energy inside that building.

But this time, I got to experience something totally different.

Instead of being in the stands, Van Andel invited me behind the scenes for a tasting of the food you’ll find in their suites and VIP areas, and let me just say… I was not prepared.

If you’ve ever thought arena food was just popcorn and hot dogs, Van Andel’s catering team will change your mind.

The menu they roll out for their premium areas is on a completely different level. Think fresh, creative, and totally unexpected dishes that rival some of the best restaurants in town.

And then there was the deep-fried Uncrustable. Yes, you read that right. They took the childhood peanut butter and jelly sandwich we all know, tossed it in the fryer, and turned it into something that left me completely speechless.

I even shared a video on TikTok of me trying it for the first time because it was just that good.

Of course, that was just the beginning. The full tasting lineup showcased everything you could imagine (sweet, savory, and everything in between), all crafted to make your game or concert night even more special.
