In honor of John Cena making his final appearance in Grand Rapids when Smackdown comes to Van Andel Arena in June, it's only fitting to take a look back at one of Grand Rapids' most iconic appearances in the WWE Universe.

On April 19th, 1999 Raw is War came to Grand Rapids to film an episode at Van Andel Arena. The Previous week in Lansing, Michigan had a storyline about  Duwayne "The Rock" Johnson and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's long-running feud, it ended with The Rock dangling Stone Cold's belt over the Shiawassee Street Bridge.

After declaring himself the winner of the feud, The Rock put himself center arena at Van Andel to have a 'funeral' for Stone Cold, who he said was too afraid to show up in Grand Rapids.

After a few minutes of showboating, the cameras cut to Stone Cold outside a parking lot just outside of the Arena, asking a Van Andel employee if a brand new Lincoln belonged to The Rock, and if the keys were inside.

The man said yes, and that he was in charge of making sure no one touched the car, since the Rock was very protective of it.

That's when Stone Cold got into the car, and pulled it into the middle of the parking lot, then after faking everyone out that he was stealing it, he hopped into a MONSTER TRUCK and just runs right over it.

(Can you imagine just walking down Ottawa Avenue on a Friday night and seeing a monster truck roll up and smash a car with no context?)

He doesn't finish there. After destroying the Rock's car, he drives the monster truck into Van Andel Arena and rolls over a herse that was parked next to the arena for The Rock's fake funeral.

The two get into a knock down fight, and eventually Stone Cold takes back his belt.

Shane McMann comes out, and declares himself the referee for that Sunday night's Backlash event, where the two would have to fight for the belt (for real).
