Three a cappella groups which gained notoriety through NBC's "The Sing-Off" are coming to Grand Rapids for a March 2015 concert at DeVos Performance Hall.

The second national "The Sing-Off" Live! Tour comes to Grand Rapids at 7:30 p.m. EDT March 19.

Voice Play

The concert features VoicePlay, a five-member Winter Park, Fla., group from the show's fourth season; Street Corner Symphony, a six-member Nashville group that was runner-up in the show's second season; and a group from this year's -- the fifth season -- two-hour "The Sing-Off" special, which aired in December on NBC.

VoicePlay consists of Earl Elkins, Jr., Layne Stein, Eli Jacobson, Tony Wakim and Geoff Castellucci. Formerly 42Five, VoicePlay started out as a street corner barbershop act whose humorous and vertigo-inducing harmonies pepper music-without-music sound as it ping-pongs between eras and styles, channeling the breadth of the musical landscape.

Street Corner Symphony

Street Corner Symphony consists of Jeremy, Jonathan and Richie Lister, along with Adam Chance, Mark McLemore and Kurt Zimmerman. Their repertoire covers a wide range, ranging from gospel and barbershop to rock and pop music.

Tickets, which are $39.50 and $49.50 with VIP packages available, go on sale at 10 a.m. EST Friday (Dec. 12). They are to be available at DeVos Place and Van Andel Arena box offices; all Ticketmaster outlets; online at; and by phone at (800) 745-3000.

Among the top a capella groups featured in "The Sing-Off" to date have been Home Free, which won the fourth season, and Pentatonix, which won the third season.

NBC's two-hour holiday special unveils the six groups competing for the first-place prize of $50,000. They are A. Squared, of New Haven, Conn.; The Exchange, of Los Angeles; Melodores and Timothy's Gift, both of Nashville; and San Fran 6, of northern California; Traces, of New York. The show's returning judges Jewel and Shawn Stockman will be joined by Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump, with ick Lachey the host.
