On Monday, as I was walking into work when I noticed a giant water leak on Ottawa Ave.
Thankfully the City of Grand Rapids was able to come out and within a few hours they had fixed the leak and repaired the road.

One street in Michigan recently experienced a severe water main break that transformed two entire blocks into what locals referred to as a "frozen river."
Residents of Vaughan Street and Constance Street in Detroit awoke to flooded streets that began to freeze following the break, which occurred due to the frigid temperatures.
Crews from the city's Water and Sewage Department, along with the Department of Public Works, began breaking the ice so they could work on the broken water main.
In this picture, you can see that the entire street is covered in water.
Crews used a jackhammer to break up the ice that had frozen on the street.
If you ever find yourself in this unfortunate situation, the first thing you should do is contact your local water utility company or public works department to report the issue.
This is usually done by calling 311 in most cities.
