Wear White & Be Fancy: This Traveling Dinner Party, Le Dîner en Blanc, is Coming to Grand Rapids in September
You do not understand how excited I am to see this coming to Grand Rapids.
One of my mother's close friends is a member and invited my mother to this exclusive all-while attired dinner in a secret location.
Le Dîner en Blanc is coming to Grand Rapids in September!
This is the second Le Dîner en Blanc that has happened in Grand Rapids. Thanks to the hosting team, Tarona Guy and Kristian Grant.
Started by François Pasquier and a group of his friends in 1988, Le Dîner en Blanc has over 17,000 guests every year.
According to the website, Le Dîner en Blanc "recalls the elegance and glamor of high French society, and guests engage one another, knowing that they are taking part in a truly magical event."
Le Dîner en Blanc is a different type of event compared to other special events. It started off as a word-of-mouth type of event.
If you knew about the event, you were lucky.
In order to go to the event, you have to be a member or sponsored by a member from last year. It is hard to gain access to this but you can also sign up on the waiting list as well.
Once you are confirmed for Le Dîner en Blanc, your attendance is mandatory, rain or shine.
Attendees must be dressed in elegant attire that is all white and only white.
The website states that "the principle fuelling this fantastic event is simple: guests dressed in all white gather at a secret location for the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal with good friends in one of their city's most beautiful public spaces."
Who doesn't love a little exclusivity?
