And when I say attended what I mean is that we would usually show up for the big catholic holidays and events (Good Friday, Easter and Midnight Mass.)

A lot of friends that were religious we're also raised catholic or some other form of Catholicism. As I got older I learned about other popular religions in Michigan including Islam and Judaism.

One religions congregation I never heard about until I moved to the west side of Michigan was something called Christian Reformed Church aka CRC.

History Of The Christian Reformed Church

The Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA or CRC) was founded in 1857 by Dutch immigrants in Holland, Michigan, who separated from the Reformed Church in America (RCA) due to theological disagreements.

This split was rooted in earlier conflicts in the Netherlands during the Secession of 1834, where reform-minded congregations sought to distance themselves from what they perceived as a declining national church.

The CRC was established to maintain a conservative and orthodox interpretation of Reformed theology amidst what its founders viewed as the liberal drift of the RCA.
