West Michigan’s Newest Professional Team Needs Your Help With A Name

If you're a sports fan that lives in Grand Rapids, you can consider yourself lucky. Between the Griffins, Gold, Tidal Waves, and Whitecaps there's always something fun to cheer on no matter what season.

But Grand Rapids is now welcoming their newest female professional team in 2024... We're getting a Professional Women's Volleyball Team. They'll be playing games inside Van Andel, and it will be a great thing to take your family to.

But there's a small problem: they don't have a name yet. So, they're asking for your help with a new contest that could net you some pretty awesome prizes if yours is picked

What kind of name is the Grand Rapids / West Michigan women's volleyball team looking for?

They have given a few guidelines to anyone who thinks they have the chops to name this new West Michigan team.

They say they are looking for name suggestions preferably with "Grand Rapids" or "West Michigan" included. While having a geographical element is preferred to start, they say they'll consider other options if they're creative enough.

Now if they pick your name? That's the cool part- the first person to suggest the winning name will walk away with a grand prize package including two season tickets for the inaugural 2024 season, their time to shine with recognition at the home opener at Van Andel Arena, autographed gear, and the opportunity to meet the team.

But if you come up with a name someone else has already suggested, and it wins, you won't walk away empty-handed. Everyone who suggests the winning name after that point will receive two tickets to and recognition at the 2024 home opener, a team-autographed item, and two team t-shirts.
